Amazing day training with James Stanhope from Wella UK

Yesterday was one of those days that remind me why I love working in the hair industry. I had the absolute privilege of attending a training session with James Stanhope from Wella UK, and it was nothing short of inspiring.

James is a true master of his craft—his knowledge, creativity, and passion for hairdressing were evident from the moment he started. He broke down the latest trends, techniques, and products in a way that was not only easy to understand but also exciting to implement.

One of the key focuses of the training was Wella’s latest colour innovations. James took us through some of the brand’s newest formulations, sharing insights on how to achieve seamless blends, long-lasting vibrancy, and personalised tones for every client. His eye for detail is incredible, and I picked up so many useful tips on how to elevate my own colour work.

We also had an in-depth session on precision cutting. Watching James demonstrate his techniques was mesmerising—his ability to create structure, movement, and texture with just a few adjustments is truly next level. He also shared some clever time-saving tricks that I can’t wait to try in the salon.

Leaving the training, I felt re-energised and inspired to bring fresh ideas to my clients. The knowledge and skills I gained from James will no doubt enhance my approach to both colouring and cutting.
